How God's Word Came to Us

How God's Word Came to Us

As new Christians, one of the most important aspects of our faith is understanding how God's Word came to us. The Bible is not just any book; it is the inspired and authoritative Word of God that guides us in our faith journey. In this blog post, we will explore the revelation, inspiration, and illumination of God's Word through key scriptures such as Deut. 29:29, Is. 59:21, and Prov. 6:23.

Revelation of God's Word (Deut. 29:29): The revelation of God's Word refers to the way in which God has chosen to make Himself known to us through Scripture. Deuteronomy 29:29 says, "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law." This verse reminds us that while there are some mysteries about God that we may never fully understand, He has revealed Himself to us through His Word so that we may know Him and follow His commandments.

Inspiration of God's Word (Is. 59:21): The inspiration of God's Word speaks to the fact that all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). Isaiah 59:21 says, "And as for Me," says the Lord, "this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth..." This verse emphasizes that the words contained in the Bible are not just human words but are divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Illumination of God's Word (Prov. 6:23): The illumination of God's Word refers to the way in which the Holy Spirit helps us understand and apply Scripture to our lives. Proverbs 6:23 says, "For these commands are a lamp; this teaching is a light..." This verse highlights that when we read and study the Bible with an open heart and mind, the Holy Spirit will illuminate its truths for us so that we may walk in obedience and wisdom.

As new Christians seeking to grow in our faith and understanding of God's Word, it is essential for us to recognize how Scripture came into being through its revelation, inspiration, and illumination. By studying key scriptures such as Deut. 29:29, Is. 59:21, and Prov. 6:23, we can deepen our knowledge of how God communicated His truth to humanity through His written word.

In conclusion, understanding how God's Word came to us reveals His love for us as He has provided a means for us to know Him intimately through Scripture. Through its revelation by Himself
